On March 11, 2011, a bride met her destiny in a seaside wedding chapel high above the beach in Noda Village, Japan. Today, she awaits her groom's return.
I took this footage of the tsunami bride lingering in the remains of a wedding chapel that sits on a seaside cliff about 100 feet above sea level; not high enough to be safe from the March 11, 2011 tsunamis that destroyed the Smile Heights community of Noda Village, along with hundreds of miles of coastal communities in northeastern Japan.
